Hey there! I’m Lauren Wallis and I’m a Psychotherapist. I love writing, traveling and supporting clients through some of life’s greatest challenges. But my career actually started elsewhere. I used to be a physiotherapist. The turning point came when I was working with patients who were experiencing severe chronic pain, and I realized that physical and emotional pain from a very similar place. The physical can’t be separated from the emotional, and I became inspired to jump in with clients and dive to the depths of their fears, passions and true selves.
I completed my M.A. in Spiritual Care and Psychotherapy at Wilfrid Laurier University, and I’m a CCC (Certified Canadian Counsellor) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and a Qualifying RP (Registered Psychotherapist) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
I’m a warm, open, accepting therapist. I care deeply for the wellbeing of my clients, and I believe that if someone feels accepted and welcomed just as they are, it provides the perfect platform for them to deepen their self-compassion, self-awareness and naturally create compassionate shifts in their lives.
I believe that the mind, body and spirit work together in the healing process, so I draw from my experience as a physiotherapist and my training in spiritually integrated psychotherapy to treat the whole person. I work to remind and empower clients that wholeness is their true nature, and we all have the potential to return to that place.
